Drinkwell 360 Fountain Stainless Steel
We purchased this fountain around 6 months ago, and our 3 cats absolutely love it. We previously had another type of fountain that was hard plastic and very difficult to get apart and clean. This one is very easy to clean, once you get the hang of it. We clean out the whole thing twice a week. Taking the clips off can be difficult but we came up with a solution, we use the blunt side of a butter knife, gently push outward and they pop right off. The filters are also a pain because they are disposable, but there is a permanent filter that you can buy here on Amazon, and then just buy charcoal from the fish section of the pet store and refill, way cheaper than buying all of those one time filters. Just make sure to get all of the excess charcoal dust out before placing in the fountain, we run it under water and shake it from side to side several times until the water runs clear. Also make sure to clean out the pump really well, otherwise it will get pet hair stuck in it and burn out. We use a pipe cleaner and dish soap. First we fill the sink with soap and water then we scrub out the filter and plug the pump in and run with the soapy water going through for several minutes. Drain soapy water, fill with clean water and run again for several minutes, make sure it is soap free, you don't want your pet drinking soap. Then you just put it back together, fill up and turn on. Some people have complained that it is hard to get the clips on, but you have to find a way that works for you. Took a little bit of experimentation on how to clean it, but once we figured that out, it's been great.
All in all, the four legged ones love it and get plenty of water, and we love it too.

So my cat really doesn't like her water bowl, even if I keep refilling it. But she seems to really like the sink's faucet. Is this just normal behavior? Honestly, I think it's really cute.
Hi I am thinking about getting my cat Harvie a Water Fountain but dont know which one to get. Are any safer than others? I dont want to have to buy filters so often but definitely want it to be filtered water. I seen on some you need to replace the filter every few weeks.. thats crazy. I want to go at least every 2 or longer. I am pretty sure i dont want a petmate brand one... I did see a small one on Walter Drake website.. .anybody use this one? Please help Harvie find a nice fountain... Thanks
