Walkers Game Ear Ultra Pair
For ten years or so, I have had little or no hearing out of my left ear. I priced hearing aids several times over the years, and found them to be very pricey. Prices were in the thousands.
So I purchase this little gem a few weeks ago, (actually two) for a little more than 20 bucks. Works like one for thousands. I can't hear low tones, so I turned it all the way to low tone, and kept the volume at minimum. My hearing is back to normal. No rushing white noise, no feedback, with a nose limiting circuit to protect your ear from a loud noise. A quality product. My hearing is back to normal. And I have a spare for back up, to boot. I bet the hearing aid companys are sheeting their drawers over this product. I wish I could give it 6 stars.

Both hearing aids are working beautifully. No complaints here. I don't understand the negative reviews. These hearing aids work like a charm.

I bought these for my father-in-law, who is hard of hearing and refuses to go see a doctor about his hearing loss. The whole family has to shout at him, and it gets pretty annoying.
I know these units were not designed to be used as hearing aids, but they work well at that function and are very cost effective. They enhance not only volume of sound but also the tone of the sound. Some people hear certain tones okay, but other tones disappear into the cumulatively damaged hearing zone.
I have owned a set of Walker game ears for several years and have used them while hunting.
When my FIL needed some hearing help, I thought maybe the Ultra Ear would work for him also even though it's a bit different than the Game ears I use for hunting.
Although he's too proud to admit it, he has been wearing the Ultra Ears for several weeks when no one is around and he is watching TV. Eventually I'm sure he will be wearing them all the time, or they will inspire him to go see the doctor about getting some real hearing aids... Hopefully...
A family friend who is borderline deaf, when he would talk it was as if he was trying to reach god. Well let me tell you after using this item his voice went from three thousand decibals to whatever the norm is now. I can finally say he is soft spoken, and my headaches are gone as well.

I ordered this product for my grandmother who uses these to help her hear when company comes over. They took a while to ship but once they arrived she was very pleased!
This really does what I wanted it to do which is to improve my hearing so that I do not irritate others when I ask them to repeat themselves. My wife and grand-children are especially pleased. I can understand both much clearer. These are powerful devices which will amplify sound far beyond my needs and the batteries seem to last a long time. They are extremely comfortable to wear and fit my ears perfectly. They are much smaller than I expected and not very noticeable and I forget they are even there. I have the volume turned down very low and it is adequate for my needs. They do take some time to get used to as it seems that wearing them is training my brain to take the most advantage of them. I could not be more pleased as these devices work better than I could even imagine. I am hearing things I have not heard in years. This will probably turn out to be some of the best money I have ever spent.
The Walker's Game Ear works better than I expected. I am hard of hearing and at the range it was difficult to hear the Range Officer's instructions with normal ear plugs. The Game Ear allows clear hearing and enough supression to be effective protection.
I have nerve deafness in mid range and understand from the audiologist that this is a very difficult to set up a program under the old technology. So, I spent $2,100 per ear to get one of the best units with four software programs, one for normal conversation, one for high noise levels, one for soft voices, and one for reflected sound in a restaurant. I had these units for 7 years and they steadily became more difficult.
I would run to the audiologist, pay big bucks and have the program readjusted, and volume turned up. All this time and trouble and all people had to do was yell. Then I saw Walker's Ultra Ear Hearing Enhancer at Amazon.com. It had its own volume control, tone control, and compression circuit. That is everything I need, at a terrific price. So I bought a set for myself and one set for my wife.
When I got it, it didn't work at all. Then I found that the little instruction manual for this product shows the battery incorrectly installed. That will cause many customers much frustration. If your unit doesn't work no matter what you do, turn the battery around. That said, once you have the battery in the right position adjustments are needed. This little computer has surprising power.
For my ear problem, I have turned the sound volume all the way down, and the tone control on high. That enhances what I can hear and my level of hearing is comfortable. As the battery runs down, just turn up the volume. This little computer must be part of the new technology. I do not remember finding something like this years back. It is powerful and ideal for me.
