I'll start by saying that I have 2 cats. One long-hair and one short-hair. Some of you will understand that the long-haired cat isn't even a fraction of the problem. My short-hair sheds unrelentlessly. Even when I brush her I have to give up at some point, because the job never really seems to be done. So my whole apartment seems like a giant mess of cat hair.

When I was originally browsing the reviews of this item one article of furniture in particular was on my mind. My cat has claimed the sofa in the computer room as her own. Her hair gets so weaved into the fabric that it is entirely impossible to get it out. It got past a certain point where I literally felt helpless and would tell my company "oh..i wouldnt bother sitting on that couch...it's the cat's couch." How embarrassing.

When This arrived, the first thing i did was go to work on this couch. That little pink rubberized nozzle on the end is a miracle-worker!! I was really looking for something that particularly focused on pet hair, and as anyone knows, even the really GOOD vacuums for cat hair end up being useless once the hairs weave their way all around the bristles of the rotating brushes. Kiss your vacuum goodbye after that point, because it'll never work the same again.

So I will admit...this sofa was kind of an ultimate "test" of dramatic circumstances. It did take a bit of time, and it did take some elbow grease, but I got the whole couch cleaned within a half-hour. In the past, with my previous attempts to clean this couch, a half-hour barely scratched the surface of what really needed to be done! It's..CLEAN! It looks great!

I will admit that once i was done, i wanted to clean up all of the little crumbs that had gotten under the cushions, so i put on the plastic nozzle attachment. I did experience a little of what others have mentioned with the vent blowing out air heavilly and causing it to blow away what you're going to be picking up, but after some manuvering, I was able to successfully get it done. Really this is only a tiny flaw in my mind.

I bought this to pick up pet hair...and if it only does a so-so job on other things I am okay with that. I would have really liked it to be cordless, so i could bring it out to my car. All in all i think if you have a specific problem with PET HAIR, that this little vacuum could save you lots of grief!
