Handy Living CAC4 S1 AAA47 Convert A Couch Microfiber

I shopped around a lot for a couch/futon that would meet our needs: something to sit on in our office/guest room that would convert into a bed for guests. I kept coming back to this couch because the price was great and it had such favorable reviews.
I hardly ever write reviews (actually never since I am writing under my husband's account) but I had to write a review because this couch is FABULOUS! I am blown away by the price, free delivery with Amazon Prime, and ease of assembly. It's also a good looking couch and was a lot bigger and more substantial than I imagined. I seriously didn't think a couch this big could just arrive via UPS in a box!
After sleeping on sofa beds at other people's houses, I can really appreciate how ridiculously easy it is to convert this back and forth between a couch and bed.
And bottom line, I think it's very comfortable as both a couch and a bed. Win-win!

I bought this for my college age son to use in his basement living room. We were looking for a sofa that could be a spare bed for guests. It was delivered fast, and although the box was a bit beat up it was packed very well. It was easy to put together. It is very comfortable as a sofa and a bed. Worth the money. Color is accurate to the picture.
I ordered this couch delivered to a vacation home on Chincoteague Island--it was delivered to the front door in the morning on the day promised (the day after my order) and it was waiting for me when I arrived. Reasonable straightforward to assemble--one person can do it. As with many to-be-assembled furniture items, you have to take care to keep the correct elements on the correct side and in the correct orientation. Also, for those who are no longer supple and limber, you'll go through the usual semi-contortionist movements to get some of the bolts in the right places--but, again, nothing unusual. The cushions are coil spring segments that look small when they're by themselves. The get stuffed into large "pockets" in the cover--and once stuffed into their pockets, they fill out the cover pretty nicely and create a normally-sized couch. It's firm and very comfortable. The padded armrests have velcro on the inside to stick to velcro on the arm structure--mine don't stay down very well (which leaves the black strip of the velcro somewhat exposed--not terribly aesthetically pleasing), but I assume that's because the couch is new and a bit stiff. I'd expect them to loosen up over time.
The couch unfolds to make a bed. It also has two settings for seating--one with the normal straight-backed orientation, and one reclined.
I'm very happy with this couch.
I was shocked that this couch was so easy to put together and remarkably comfortable. I'm surprised at the quality and structure for a couch that comes in one box. It is a little stiff right out of the box, but not too bad. We were fighting over who will get to sleep on it first. The box is pretty heavy, so be prepared to have someone available to help you move it and I wouldn't recommend taking it out of the box until you are where you will be putting it together as it is pretty compressed in the box. Having a helper made putting this couch together a cinch - the directions are pretty easy to follow and I think we had it out of the box and put together in less than an hour. Overall a great purchase!
For the money, this is a great couch. What impressed me the most is how they got a couch this size into such a small box. I unboxed it on the porch and carried the individual pieces into the living room by myself. It took three of us to take my old couch out that was about the same size as this one. What a mess that was. It took me three hours to put the couch together by myself and there were no real problems of any kind. Taking into consideration the fact that I am 75 years old, someone younger could probably do it in half that length of time. There are probably better convertible sofas available, but I can pretty much guarantee that by the time one gets them delivered, they are going to cost at least twice as much. No one is going to believe me when I tell them that this couch came in a box and I put it together by myself. Simply amazing. My wife thinks I am some kind of genius, but in fact, it really wasn't that big of a deal. I couldn't be more pleased.
My doorway is very narrow so I needed something that could be constructed in my apartment. It is easy to construct and made perfect sense for my apartment. The fabric is very soft and comfortable. I am happy with the purchase.
I have been looking for a couch like this for some time. I wanted it for one of the bedrooms that I use as a den. It seems to be well made and was well packed when I received it. BUT the box was pretty beat up when it arrived by UPS. One hole in particular was 5 inches in diameter and it had torn the fabric that covers the seat rails. And there were two boot marks on this fabric where someone had walked or stood on it. Its made in China so I'm thinking someone at the factory did this before they packed it. And since the torn fabric and the footprint would be covered by the brown microfiber cover I assembled it and kept it. And I like it. So many other brands like this sit too low and are stiff. But this couch is like a regular couch and is comfortable. Great for when guests come over and I need extra sleeping space.
We bought this sofa about a month ago to go in our guest cabin. Our first visitors just left and wanted info on where I got it as they thought it was so nice and comfortable. It was easy to put together and is just perfect for what we neede for the limited space we have in the cabin. I love it.
I have to say, this "convert-a-couch" is not really what I expected, but man is it comfortable! I heavily researched "futons" and such once I moved-in to my new apartment. Most futons are crappy couches and crappier beds. Other pull-out sofas are better couches, but worse beds. This convert-a-couch is a great couch and a better bed! It uses a spring mattress instead of just a cotton-stuffed cushion, and it's from a great, green, somewhat-hippy company that I sorta relate to and support. It's less than the price of a real couch, but serves two purposes pretty well. It takes a while to assemble, and I don't see it lasting me 10 years, but I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I won't be buying a bed/mattress after all!
