We own 4 of these. Two at the base of the bed (they are back to back) and two in another area, also back to back. It all started in 2005 when our senior cat had difficulty getting on the bed and onto the kitchen counter where her food was kept so the dog could not get at it.
After she passed and we rescued a mother cat and her 4 kittens we found they enjoyed playing on the steps as well as using them. The only problem is that the faux fleece does not hold up well unless you keep your cat's claws clipped. They are not to be used like a cat tree, of which our cats have 8, but they still like the feel of the fleece and it tears easily, making them look quite tattered and not easily repairable. They are very sturdy and the width would work well for a senior dog as well as a cat. I would not recommend the steps that use faux fur instead of the fleece as it is quite slippery feeling and might frighten the pet. We tried the faux fur material with our senior cat and had to donate it.I wouldn't hesitate to buy these steps again. Note: If you want the steps to fit flush when they are back to back instead of having a 1" gap at the top, buy one of each size - one 3 step and one 4 step.

I purchased these pet stairs to allow my 3-legged cat to get up on my bed. The stairs are easy for him to use; plus, they were very easy to assemble, are made of decent materials, and are very sturdy. I imagine that the screws may loosen up over time, but tightening them is very simple. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with cats or smaller dogs that are older or amputees.
The item is exactly as it was described, and exactly what I was looking for. It was easy to assemble and it's a quality item.

Bought the Armarkat steps, fit the bill perfectly for an older cat to get herself up on the bed, also became a fun place to perch, sit, or sleep for the other cats. Strong quality steps, very easy assembly, and rapid shipping despite it being standard and not expedited. Shame it didn't qualify for SuperSaver shipping but because it's not ordered actually through Amazon but third party, a bit expected and, all things considered, you'll find the same stairs considerably more expensive than the product plus shipping elsewhere, so the product price plus shipping still saves you money. Highly recommended, both the product and the seller.
I bought the Armarkat B4001 pet stairs 2 years ago and have not been disappointed. It is used to allow our Chihuahua to get on and off of our bed, but my son's 70 lb German Shorthair Pointer uses it to sneak on the bed and it has held up well. As with anything that used bolts, it need to be tightened occasionally. I don't understand the person which gave it a one star because we have had absolutely no problem. Actually, we are looking to get a second set because my daughter now has a Chihuahua. Compared to all the others we have looked at, this was the correct choice.
These stairs are exactly as advertised, very good quality and an excellent buy. They are sturdy, well made and easily assembled. They are exactly what I was looking for. I received them promptly. The seller is excellent, trustworthy, and in my book a favorite and highly recommended. Should I need further pet furniture, I will go this this seller first.
Since my bed sits very high, I ordered these pet steps for my Miniature Poodle so she can easily climb up and down. The steps arrived today; they were very easy and quick to put together and look great (exactly like the picture). I also really like the light ivory color. I wanted to let small dog owners know that they do not only work for cats but also for smaller sized dogs.
I am very pleased with this product and can definitely recommend it!
This is above and beyond what I expected. The quality of the components of these steps are wonderful. I have no fear my three cats will injure this product. I purchased it because I was afraid the plastic style steps would be too flimsy for my very fat and elderly cat. I also have a skinny one who thinks the whole world is her playground and treats things very roughly. This looked so stable, and it IS! You'd think I bought another cat tree the way the cats are playing on this thing. Of course, Tipsy (my elderly one) sits on top like she's queen of the world, but the two other cats play all the time on it. Tipsy has no problem getting up on the bed now, and last night was the first night where I wasn't woken to her screaming for me to lift her up on the bed. (Her hips have failed and she's fallen so many times she's refused to try anymore.) Tipsy has even taken to sleeping on it all through the day. She doesn't even want the bed anymore. I'm just so happy with this product. I highly recommend it for those with multiple cats. It's nice and wide so all can come and go as they please, even at the same time. Tipsy doesn't have any issues getting up or down on it.
The top step comes up level with my owners bed, allowing me a place to sit and look out the window. The steps are just far enough apart to make it easy for going up and down. I love my new steps.
